WHAT ELSE AREN’T THEY TELLING US?
⇒ In their glossy brochure masquerading as a voter guide, the proponents claim you will have a Parks & Recreation department – not according to the GSU Feasibility Study (see page 12).
⇒ This same Feasibility Study neglects to include a number of costs that must be incurred. For example:
- It assumes no cost for public safety equipment (police cars, fire trucks, etc.) – we will need those.
- It assumes we can have the East Cobb Government Center for free – that’s not true.
- Public works expenditures (like roads) are not included in the annual expenses – a figure GSU estimates at $6 million per year!
⇒ If the new fire department is not AS GOOD as the current CCFD, the ISO rating declines. This means your homeowner’s insurance increases. Ask the folks in Johns Creek – it happened to them.
⇒A number of services may require a Mutual Services Agreement with the county.
- Other cities have this agreement – but they expire this year.
- The county does not have to sign this agreement with a new city.
- No agreement – no county services
